Halton Regional Police are investigating after a male on a bicycle started a fire outside an Oakville business on Tuesday (Oct. 10).
Police say the male was riding his bike on Speers Rd. around 2:125 p.m. when he stopped in front of a business and lit a piece of paper that was hanging outside a recycling bin.
The bin was set on fire, before staff were able to rush to put it out.
“A few minutes later a staff member noticed the small fire and extinguished it with a fire extinguisher,” Halton police Const. Ryan Anderson told halton.insauga.com.
The damage was limited to the recycling bin itself.
No arrests have been made.
The male culprit is described as white and was riding a black bicycle.
