Public input needed for renovations to Oakville playground

A heavily frequented outdoor facility in Oakville is getting some major renovations.

In a post to X (formerly Twitter), municipal officials indicated that the Coronation Park Children’s Playground is scheduled to be steadily renewed over the coming months.

However — beyond internal plans for renovations — the Town of Oakville is asking the public for their two cents on how Coronation Park should prioritize its upcoming adjustments.

The park, located at 1426 Lakeshore Road West, is said to be a favored location for locals and visitors from across the Halton Region and the Greater Toronto Area.

As a result, municipal officials want the opinions of those who visit this park regularly before any moves are made on the forthcoming changes to the area.

The timeline for the Coronation Park Children’s Playground renovation, alongside the public survey incentive, is as follows:

  • September/October 2024:  Official public survey launch.
  • November/December 2024: Provide project to a chosen playground supplier and refine the design based on public input.
  • January/February 2025: Showcase preferred playground design to the public for final comment.
  • May/June 2025: Install renovated and approved equipment.
