Public celebration of life planned for young Burlington hit-and-run victim

Jayne Hounslow died tragically at Burlington Central School after being struck by a vehicle.
A public celebration of life is planned for an 8-year-old Burlington girl who was tragically killed earlier this month.
The candlelight walk will be held for Jayne Hounslow who was struck by a vehicle outside of Burlington Central School on May 3.
The memorial will begin at Burlington City Hall on May 29 beginning at 7 p.m.
Family members are also in the process of creating a foundation in Jane’s name that will support students at Burlington Central School who face financial barriers that prevent participation in sports, music and summer camps. More details of the foundation will be announced later but contributions will be accepted at the memorial.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident that caused Jayne’s death.
A 21-year-old man has been charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident causing death in connection with the case.
