Protect your identity at shred event hosted by Halton police

With scams, frauds and hacks increasing at an alarming rate in Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills, local police are hosting an event to help you keep your information safe.
A shred event is being held Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Halton police headquarters, 2485 North Service Rd. in Oakville. The event also serves as a fundraiser for Crime Stoppers of Halton.
Residents are invited to bring any documents you want to securely get rid of and watch as they’re shredded by blue-pencil Information Management.
Volunteers will be on site to help you unload your vehicles and donations are accepted in all forms of payment.
