Bike Month is underway and Halton Hills residents are invited to get out there, take some photos and potentially snag some prizes.
As part of Bike Month this June, the town has organized a scavenger hunt where participants can visit a number of locations and take a selfie with their bike and the location sign in the background, with each submitted photo counting as one raffle entry.
The prizes for the raffle, which will happen in mid-July, include a GT Aggressor Expert bike, five Fitbit Charges, and four individual $25 gift cards (two for Downtown Acton and two for Downtown Georgetown).
Here’s where the locations are for the scavenger hunt:
- Location #1 – Prospect Park
- Location #2 – Acton Library
- Location #3 – Wallace Street Park
- Location #4 – Frederick St S Trail Entrance
- Location #5 – Tanners Drive Woodlot
- Location #6 – Rennie Street Woodlot:
- Location #7 – Gellert Trail
- Location #8 – Jubilee Woodlot
- Location #9 – Dominion Gardens Park
- Location #10 – Hungry Hollow Trail near Mountainview Bridge
- Location #11 – Boardwalk Lookout
- Location #12 – Regan Ridge Bridge
- Location #13 – Chris Walker Trail
- Location #14 – McNabb/John St Underpass
The monthly event is a way to encourage people to bike more often and connect with others who enjoy biking.
“Bike Month returns this year with in-person events and a hopeful outlook that cycling can bring people together for some healthy, sustainable fun,” the Town said. “In the past, people have hosted bike rides, festivals, film nights, workshops, seminars, and get-togethers.”
The scavenger hunt ends on June 30th. More information on the scavenger hunt and the contest rules are available here.
