Pride Parade in Milton a first for Halton Region

Main St. in Milton will soon be filled with Pride.

The inaugural Pride Halton Pride Parade will take to the streets of downtown Milton on Sunday, Aug. 20, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Hosted by PRISM, a pride group on Facebook, the parade will run through Main Street, between the two rainbow crosswalks at Charles and Brown Streets.

The event celebrates inclusivity, the social and self-acceptance achievements, legal rights and pride among the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Organizers of the parade are hoping to make it a regional event with the possibility of holding the parade in Oakville next year.

The event has the support of the Town and is open to all. The hope is residents from Burlington, Oakville and Halton Hills will also make the trek for the first pride parade.
