Power outage reported in Burlington
Published January 31, 2022 at 11:05 pm
More than 200 customers of Burlington Hydro were without electricity for a few hours on Monday evening — and it was expected to last past midnight for a few.
A tweet from the utility sent around 5 p.m. said the power outage was in the Fairview/Appleby area, near the area of Robert Bateman High School. The source of the outage was a defective switching cubicle that needed to be replaced. That work posed a challenge that resulted in a longer outage for some customers.
“Because of the complexity of repair in replacing a switching cubicle the current outage will extend into the early hours for some customers,” said a tweet posted at 9:41 p.m.
