UPDATE: Driver transported to hospital with serious injuries after collision in Georgetown

A 73-year-old female has been transported to a hospital with serious injuries after a collision occurred earlier today in Georgetown.
Police say a vehicle travelling northbound on Trafalgar Rd. was struck by the trailer of a vehicle travelling southbound which had been blown into the northbound lane as a result of excessive wind.
As a result of the collision, the female was transported to Hamilton General with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition, according to police.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit has assumed carriage of the investigation due to the nature of the injuries.
