Plenty of places to watch free movies outdoors in Burlington this summer

Two outdoor summer movie series will continue for the rest of the summer in Burlington.

Movies by the Lake, presented by the Burlington Downtown Business Association at Spencer Smith Park, will feature films in the park with the lakeside setting and all you have to do is bring a chair or blanket.

Designed with all audiences in mind, the regular Tuesday night showings all feature photo opportunities where you can “walk the red carpet” as well as take part in movie trivia contests.

Snacks are available for purchase near the big screen.

Here is the rest of the summer schedule for Movies by the Lake:

  • August 1: Billy Madison – 8:30 p.m.
  • August 8: Romeo + Juliet – 1996 version – 8:20 p.m.
  • August 15: Back to the Future – 8:15 p.m.
  • August 22: Jaws – 8:10 p.m.
  • August 23: Goonies – 8:05 p.m.

Meanwhile, the City of Burlington also presents Movies Under the Stars and various parks each week.

For this series, you should also bring chairs and a blanket as well as your own refreshments. Parking and restroom facilities are open at the parks during the movies.

  • July 27: Lyle Lyle Crocodile – LaSalle Park, 50 North Shore Blvd. – 9 p.m.
  • August 3: Strange World – Kilbride Park, 2175 Blessington St. – 9 p.m.
  • August 10: The Little Mermaid (2023) – Ireland Park, 2315 Headon Forest Dr. – 9 p.m.
  • August 17: Puss in Boots – Spencer Smith Park, 1400 Lakeshore Rd. – 9 p.m.
