Person ‘in crisis’ results in heavy police presence in downtown Burlington

A crisis involving a person late Friday night (Oct. 4) has resulted in a heavy police presence in downtown Burlington.
Halton Regional Police turned to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to notify residents of their presence downtown in dealing with what they are saying is “a person in crisis.”
The incident occurred sometime before 9 p.m. near Fairview Street and Brant Street.
“The incident is contained and there is no longer a threat to public safety,” said Halton Police of the incident which occurred shortly before 9 p.m.
Police say no injuries have been reported.
