Person in car allegedly followed to Milton by armed thieves

Police say three people are facing charges after allegedly following an individual from Toronto to Milton with the suspected intent of stealing their vehicle.

Halton police are asking residents to be vigilant following an alleged incident on Nov. 4 when a Halton resident driving home noticed a vehicle following them. People say that when the victim parked, masked suspects approached the car but left after realizing the driver was on the phone.

Officers say the victim was on the phone with police when they were approached.

Police say officers arrested 20-year-old Toronto man Vineet Chopra, 24-year-old Scarborough man Gurpreet Singh Sasn and 19-year-old Cambridge man Mandeep Singh. Police also allege that a search of the suspects’ vehicle led to the discovery of a Winchester air pistol.

The accused are facing theft and weapons-related charges.

Police are reminding people to be mindful while driving and if they suspect they are being followed, to call 911 and follow all instructions from police.
