The flavour will be classic Canadian spiced up with a few international acts when the Sound of Music Festival (SOM) returns to Burlington this year.

Several of the performers have been announced with more names expected to be added to the line-up in the weeks ahead.

Announced so far are Canadians Kathleen Edwards, Lowest of the Low, Chilliwack, Tyler Shaw, Twin Flames and Rêve.

Also taking part are American recording artists Spin Doctors and Brother Elsey.

The Sound of Music takes place from June 13-16 at Spencer Smith Park but will also include events in and around downtown Burlington such as a parade and a street festival.

Originating in 1980, SOM is one of Burlington’s most welcomed summer events attracting large crowds for what is billed as Canada’s largest free outdoor music events.
