UPDATE: One killed, another injured in Halton Hills collision

One person has died and another seriously injured in what police are calling a personal injury collision in Halton Hills this evening (Dec. 27).

Initial reports indicated the incident involved a vehicle and two pedestrians but that has not yet been confirmed.

However, police are saying that one person has died as a result of a collision while another has been taken to hospital.

The collision took place at Trafalgar Rd. and 17 Sideroad in Georgetown during the rush hour period.

As officers investigated, Trafalgar Rd. was closed at 15 Sideroad northbound and 22 Sideroad southbound. The roadways have since re-opened as officers concluded their roadside investigation into the tragedy.

Police have made few other details available.
