Pedestrian in distress hit by a transport truck on the Skyway in Burlington

A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after he was struck on the Skyway bridge in Burlington.
The 28-year-old was hit by a transport truck in the Toronto-bound QEW lanes of the Skyway bridge Tuesday (April 4) evening, OPP said in a tweet around 10:30 p.m.
Police didn’t say why the man was walking on the highway but did say he was in distress. He was sent to hospital with serious injuries and his family was notified.
The transport truck driver remained on the scene.
The Toronto-bound QEW lanes were closed between Eastport Drive and North Shore Boulevard until 1 a.m. for the investigation.
