Over $500,000 in provincial funding to be distributed amongst several Oakville sports clubs

The provincial government has just provided Oakville with over $500,000 to aid several non-profits today (July 31).

As indicated by an official release from the city, this cash injection was accomplished through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) — specifically in this case — via the organization’s grant stream designed to help municipalities support spaces for public programming and activity.

These funds often assist in designing new programs or supporting already established community staples, with funding going towards new supplies, facility repairs, and potential renovations.

Organizations in Oakville that are slated to get funding include:

  •  Bandology
  •  Crusaders Rugby Club
  •  Oakville Gymnastics Club
  •  The Oakville Curling Club

“Across Ontario, non-profit organizations are delivering critical programming that is helping people train for new careers, stay active, learn new things and connect with their community,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming in an official statement.

Further information provided by the city also indicates that these provided grants are part of the more than $28 million supporting 291 local programs and services throughout Ontario.

More information on these funds and their recipients can be found on Oakville’s official website.
