OLG has paid out $2,536,285 to Milton as its first quarter payment (April 1 to June 30) for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk.

Since the Campbellville-area casino opened in August 1999, Milton has received $137,672,255 of the revenue, according to OLG.

The funds received for hosting the casino can be used by the town for programs such as economic recovery, infrastructure development and job creation.

“Host communities support important community programs and services and strengthen their local infrastructure with these gaming revenues,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, the province’s Minister of Finance.

“These financial supports help fund the vital programs and services that residents can depend on for their future.”

OLG says the payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario, using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is a crown agency that develops gaming sites and conducts province-wide lottery games in Ontario.
