One person dead at scene of Burlington highway crash

One person has died following a vehicle collision overnight in Burlington.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, the incident occurred just after 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 14. on a section of Hwy. 403 near Waterdown Rd.

Several reports indicate many vehicles were involved in the crash with many people taken to hospital.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

While the highway was closed for several hours, Ontario Provincial Police say that stretch of the 403 is now open in both directions and traffic is moving slowly through the area.

More details about the accident are expected to be released later today from the OPP.
