Cottage country thefts lead to arrests of three from Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton

Two people from Halton and one from Hamilton have been arrested after a van, trailer and several licence plates were recovered following a theft.
OPP say on Sept. 29 they received reports of suspicious activities in the Six Mile Provincial Park near Georgian Bay Township in Muskoka.
Arriving at the area around 8 p.m., officers found three people alongside a white Ford van with a U-Haul trailer attached.
Upon the investigation — apart from the stolen van and trailer — break-in tools and numerous Ontario vehicle licence plates were discovered in the possession of the three suspects.
As a result, the following individuals have been charged with:
42-year-old Michael McCormick from Burlington is facing:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (six counts)
- Failure to comply with an undertaking
- Possession of break-in instruments
30-year-old Jessica Resendes Miller from Oakville is facing:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (six counts)
- Failure to comply with an undertaking
- Possession of break-in instruments
33-year-old Larry Allen Payne from Hamilton is facing:
- Possession of property obtained by crime Over $5,000 (six counts)
- Possession of break-in instruments
The accused were eventually released from custody and will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
