Oakville’s Daniel Jebbison is getting a quick start on making his mark in the English Premier League.
Jebbison, who is just 17 years and 309 days old, became the youngest player to score in his first Premier League start when he found the back of the net in Sheffield United’s 1-0 win over Everton, Sunday, at Goodison Park in Liverpool.
The six-foot-three forward, who made his first appearance as a substitute last week against Crystal Palace, got his foot on a cross from Jack Robinson just seven minutes into the game for what proved to be the winning goal.
“It feels amazing,” Jebbison told reporters after the contest. “I’m so thankful for the whole club, in general, especially the academy. They’ve been encouraging me, they brought me to this point. I’m just so thankful that I’ve been given the opportunity.”
Jebbison was just six-years-old when he got his start at ANB Futbol Academy in East Gwillimbury. In 2017 he moved to England, before joining the Sheffield United Academy and advancing through the Blades’ under-18 and under-23 programs to the first team.
