Oakville will determine future of parkland at upcoming meeting

Oakville’s comprehensive plan that will determine the future of parkland throughout the town is a taking the next step towards becoming a reality.

A September 6 meeting of the town’s planning and development committee will see the plan presented for one of the last times before it goes to a full council meeting later this year for final approval.

The plan has met with mixed reaction by both residents and developers who have been jockeying for position to determine how it will affect future recreational use and the building of high-rises as the town looks to intensification as future housing options.

The public can participate at the meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. in person at Oakville Town Hall and through live streaming on YouTube (youtube.com/TownofOakvilleTV).
