Oakville Transit fares to increase next month

Riding the bus in Oakville will cost you more beginning Canada Day.

Effective July 1, 2023, Oakville Transit is increasing its adult fares.

Adult riders purchasing a PRESTO single ride pass will now pay $3.30. A monthly pass for adults will now cost them $139.

The increase in fare rates was approved by Oakville Town Council as part of the 2023 budget.

Youth, up to 19 years of age and seniors, over 65, can ride the bus for free provided they have a PRESTO card and tap when boarding the bus.

With ridership down after the pandemic, a new permanent program for youth and seniors to ride for free was launched on May 1, 2023.
