Everybody loves the Oakville Santa Claus Parade.

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the big guy was back in town Saturday morning (Nov. 19) for a festive live in-person holiday celebration.

The annual parade through downtown Oakville and Kerr Village with Santa’s sleigh and a variety of floats from members of the community had thousands of local residents lined up along the route to help kick off the Holiday Season.

“It was great to join members of the community and my council colleagues at our 2022 Santa Claus Parade in Oakville,” said Mayor Rob Burton on Twitter. “Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us – happy holidays!”

The theme for this year’s parade was “Christmas Around the World,” to recognize holiday traditions from all cultures and countries.

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I had a great time at the Oakville Santa Claus Parade,” tweeted Oakville North-Burlington MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos.

“Thank you to all the community members who attended, all of the great parade participants and (the) Oakville North-Burlington volunteers who walked with me!”

“What a magical return!,” tweeted Oakville Hydro, who along with a team volunteers participated in the parade.
