The Oakville community is invited to participate in the Glen Abbey Branch Art Project, which is a series of immersive, hands-on workshops to create artwork that will become part of the Colour Connects installation at the local library branch.
Toronto-based artist and designer, Caroline Macfarlane, has been awarded the Oakville Public Library (OPL), Glen Abbey Branch Art Project.
OPL recently placed a call for Expressions of Interest to create a permanent indoor public artwork for the children’s area and outdoor patio area of the Glen Abbey Branch.
Workshops will be held every Tuesday in January which are drop-in sessions. They are open to groups of all ages and backgrounds.
The project will be installed in the summer of this year and unveiled in September.
Colour Connects creates opportunities for people of all ages to improve OPL’s Glen Abbey Branch and invites library visitors to contribute to the transformation through creativity, colour and collaboration.
The project has four components which include community-based workshops to create a large-scale collaborative digital mural, wall sculptures and colour interventions.
