Oakville Milton Humane Society asks for help after influx of unwanted puppies

The Oakville and Milton Humane Society has put out a call for help after being inundated with 23 puppies recently.
The unexpected influx doubled how many dogs were already at the shelter and the organization is asking for any financial help people can provide to help offset the cost of medical care, spay/neuter surgeries and a safe shelter.
The pups, some surrendered by their owners, some abandoned and some rescued from puppy mills after being deemed unsellable, are too young to be adopted just yet, so the organization has a huge commitment on their hands to care for them.
“They will need their vaccines, spay/neuter, microchipping and other medical care on top of their regular care and supplies needed in their foster homes, which OMHS provides, so we would greatly appreciate donations,” said an OMHS spokesperson.
Located at 445 Cornwall Rd. in Oakville, OMHS relies solely on donations to care for the animals.
