Oakville mansion tops list of most expensive homes sold in July

With an indoor and outdoor pool, eight bathrooms and space to park 13 vehicles, a 5,000 sq. ft. mansion in Oakville was the most expensive home sold in Ontario in the month of July.

The “luxurious” estate located at 319 Balsam Dr. tops the list of most expensive homes sold this month according to real estate firm Zoocasa, selling in eight days on July 20 for $10,375,000. A bargain from the list price of $10,998,000.

With four bedrooms, this two-storey detached home with its incredible landscape and stone and wood accepts present the feeling of living in a country estate.

Located on one of southeast Oakville’s most prestigious streets, this home has heated floors and seven fireplaces, including four which are wood burning.

There are two primary suites with one on the main floor and a loft suite over the three-car garage. The kitchen has banquet eat-in dining with a relaxing lounge and wood burning fire place.

There are multiple walk-outs on both levels and the dining room opens up to an outdoor area.

Each bedroom has an ensuite finished in marble, with the primary bedroom upstairs complete with three dressing rooms.

The home also boasts a living with a vaulted beamed ceiling, a pair of laundry rooms, theatre, gym, sauna, steam shower and a games room with a wet bar.

The benchmark price for a home in the province last month reached $927,100, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association’s (CREA) most recent data.
