A 75-year-old Oakville man died after being involved in a three-vehicle collision in the City of Kawartha Lakes, police say.

The Ontario Provincial Police say that Oliver Gomes of Oakville was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision on Highway 35 in Manvers Township. An injured passenger from the same vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A driver in a passenger vehicle attempted to pass a transport truck, which resulted in a collision. The transport truck caught fire and sustained extensive damage. Another transport truck was involved in the collision and sustained minor damage.
