Hanging out with dinosaurs all day will have to wait for Campbell Fair.

After all, the Oakville kicker has some footballs to drill through the uprights after the Saskatchewan Roughriders signed him to their practice roster earlier this week.

The 23-year-old was working in Trenton for a company that builds dinosaur exhibits when he got the call from the CFL team.

Fair was working at the same company as his dad, Matthew, helping to build projects that have been on display at the Royal Ontario Museum and even appeared on the big screen in the latest Transformers film.

The kicker was originally drafted by the Calgary Stampeders in the sixth round (51st overall) of this year’s CFL draft after suiting up for the University of Ottawa for three seasons.

The six-foot-one , 165-pounder went 10 for 14 on field goals, while nailing all seven point after tries in his final year with the Gee-Gees.

Also in 2021, he booted a 45-yard game-winning field goal with one minute remaining in the Panda Game to seal a 19-17 victory over the Carleton Ravens.

Fair was brought in as insurance for injured Saskatchewan kicker Brett Lauther, whose status for Saturday’s game against Calgary remains up in the air.
