If you were hoping to enjoy a swim or two at one of Oakville’s community centres next week, you will have to change plans.
The town recently announced that both pools at the Iroquois Ridge Community Centre will be closed on Thursday, Aug. 31 and Friday, Sept. 1.
According to the town, the pools will be closed for scheduled maintenance.
The centre includes two pools, a 25-metre competitive swimming pool with an accessible ramp and a leisure pool with a water slide.
Both pools are heated.
While the pools will not be operational for those two days, residents can still access the centre’s fitness facility, Older Adults Centre, library and other amenities.
Those with their hearts set on swimming can find other open pools on the Town of Oakville’s public swimming page.
There, they will find the price of admission fees and memberships and what they need to know about the pools, swims and aquatics lessons.
Information is also provided on the swim admission standards, what to do when classes are missed, withdrawals and refunds, inclusion and support, and they need to know about the universal change rooms.
