A speeding driver is facing a slew of charges after being stopped by police in Oakville.

According to Cst. Marc Taraso, he was overtaken on Friday night (Dec. 17) by a driver going 103 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

Taraso stopped the driver and allegedly found cocaine and cannabis readily accessible in the vehicle.

The G2 novice driver was also driving with a suspended licence (suspended due to unpaid fines), an uninsured vehicle, and registered an alert for alcohol in their system.

The driver has been charged accordingly and had their licence further suspended.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, Taraso says.
