Growing on the strength of last year’s inaugural event, the Burlington VegFest is back again for 2023.

This year organizers say VegFest will be better than before with more vendors, more entertainment, and more activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Set for Saturday, Aug. 19 at Burloak Waterfront Park, Vegfest will feature vegan foods for all to enjoy along with speakers who will be talking about the health benefits of vegetables and offer advice to those who want to make the switch from current dietary habits.

Organizers describe themselves as a small, local, volunteer-led committee of vegans who celebrate a way of living that is centered on compassion, health and sustainability while supporting area businesses and farmers,

As well, organizers say the event is ideal for those who are either plant-based-curious to the long-term committed vegans.

VegFest is free to attend although donations will be accepted.

Activities start at noon and end at 6 p.m.

The park is located at 5420 Lakeshore Rd. There is free parking and a free shuttle bus from the Appleby GO Station.
