Niagara’s Brock University closing Hamilton campus, moving east to Burlington

Brock University is one step closer to moving its Hamilton campus a little further east on the QEW, to Burlington.
The long-term plan is for the university to move into a new community hub in the former home of Robert Bateman High School, located at 5151 New St.
The sale of that property from the Halton District School Board to the City of Burlington was just completed earlier this week.
Brock University will offer its teachers education and applied disabilities studies programs and will be developing professional and continuing studies specifically to the needs of Burlington.
That site, however, may not be ready for several years as it undergoes an extensive renovation. And because Brock already sold its Hamilton campus effective at the end of this year, they’ll need another facility for the 2023-24 school year, at the very least.
And that’s where a separate deal between Brock and the Halton school board will see the university temporarily operate out of the former Lester B. Pearson High School site.
“With the support of our community partners, Brock University will continue to deliver the exceptional student experience it is known for throughout this transitionary period,” said Ken Chan, Brock’s vice-president, Administration.
“The modern facilities at the new campus will support the success of our students and provide exciting opportunities for Brock to contribute to the growth and vitality of the wider Halton community.”
