Newest Halton Police Board member is longtime Milton councillor

A Milton councillor is the newest member of the Halton Police Board.

Sameera Ali, the Ward 4 regional councillor since 2018, has been appointed by Halton Regional council for the remainder of the term, until 2026.

“It is such an incredible honour to be part of this prestigious board,” said Ali.

“As someone who has been an avid advocate for public safety for many years, I am excited to learn more about community safety, policing and judiciary through this role. I want to thank the Halton Regional Council and the Halton Police Board for their confidence in me, I hope to make everyone proud.”

Ali holds a master’s degree in international relations. Professionally, she has more than 15 years of experience in managing multilingual public relations and marketing campaigns for clients all over the world. She also volunteers her time on 11 boards/committees and various local causes.
