New year, new increased fares for Milton Transit

The cost of riding a bus will be going up once the first Milton Transit vehicle hits the road in 2024.

A spokesperson said the fare increase will help offset the costs associated in expanding and improving service for riders.

Effective Jan. 2, here are the increases for each age category.

Seniors age 65+

• Cash fares – $4.25 from $4
• 10 Tickets – $23 from $22
• Monthly Pass $57 from $54

Youth ages 13 to 19

• Cash fares – $4.25 from $4
• 10 Tickets – $25 from $23
• Monthly Pass – $68 from $63

Adult ages 20 to 64

• Cash fares – $4.25 from $4
• 10 Tickets – $34 from $32
• Monthly Pass – $91 from $85

Customers can purchase tickets and passes through the Token Transit mobile app or at open ticket agents. Alternatively, customers can use exact cash for payment upon boarding the bus.
