New school year brings changes to Milton Transit routes for students

Next week’s first day of school also brings with it some changes to the Milton Transit schedule.

On Tuesday, Sept. 5, the bus system will implement service updates to provide more efficient and connected service to riders.

Among the changes are:

• Reintroduction of school special routes (50, 51, 52, 53, 54)
• Minor changes to school special 53
• New route 9A with service to Elsie MacGill Secondary School

The school routes are offered from September to June during instructional school days, including exam days.

Other changes are the Milton Transit OnDemand from the Mattamy National Cycling Centre where connections will be available to and from Milton District Hospital via routes 2, 7, 8.

Transit tickets and passes can be purchased at open ticket agents. Customers may also purchase tickets and passes through the mobile app or use exact cash for payment upon boarding the bus.
