The Eighth Note is now located in a familiar Milton location.

There is a familiar tone present at Milton’s newest restaurant bar.

The location is the same, and the crew is the same, but the name and the concept are strikingly different.

The Eighth Note is now officially open and while customers will recognize the downtown location, what they will find inside is a live music venue with a refreshed menu presented by some familiar faces.

Formerly Pretty Rad at 243 Main St. E. in the old post office building, the transition into The Eighth Note will see regular music nights along with special events scattered throughout its calendar of events.

In the weeks and months ahead, you can expect local musicians to take the stage as well as dates set aside for youth open mics and band-backed karaoke.

“From live entertainment with some excellent local talent to ladies’ night and live band karaoke, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Note!” reads an announcement on the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area website.

The menu is extensive. Along with the usual pub fare of burgers, nachos and wings, you can find such specialty items as brussel sprout and cauliflower hash, short rib empanada bites, andouille stuffed pork cutlet, baked mac and cheese, a variety of taco dishes, deserts, kids’ favourites and a full slate of breakfast options. Choices for cocktails, wine and beer are extensive.

Despite the newness, several of the food favourites from Pretty Rad are still available and served by holdover staff who will continue with the new management.
