New pedestrian bridges in Milton park should be completed by end of August

A pair of pedestrian bridges at a Milton park are expected to remain closed until the end of the month.
The bridges are in David Thompson Park and have been closed for most of the summer due to their poor condition. A two-month program to fix up a handful of Milton bridges got underway in July.
The 2023 bridge and culvert rehabilitation program is a bi-annual program that addresses needs for the Town’s bridges and culverts to extend their service life.
The two bridges in David Thompson Park, towards Bell St., are being fully replaced.
Construction timelines are dependent on many factors, including weather.
Town-led construction is essential municipal work to ensure Milton’s infrastructure remains safe, in state of good repair and able to meet the community’s needs now and in the future.
