A new piece of public art celebrating the 50th anniversary of Halton Hills is being unveiled next week.
Created by contemporary painter Denitza, the large-scale vinyl mural will adorn the large windows in the publicly accessible Town Hall atrium.
The artist said the intent of the piece is to create a visual tribute to Halton Hills, celebrating the diverse and interconnected elements that define the Town.
“This work is truly beautiful and reflective of the many communities that that define Halton Hills,” said Halton Hills Mayor Ann Lawlor. “The Town Hall is a very appropriate place for this piece that complements our award-winning building.”
The successful artist was selected from a pool of applicants responding to a request to produce an artwork responding to the theme of Connected Communities: celebrating the people, places, nature, environment, and the urban and rural areas that make up Halton Hills.
Everyone is welcome to celebrate and explore this new artwork that showcases Halton Hills as a magical place where diverse elements come together in harmony
The unveiling is Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5-7 p.m., at Halton Hills Town Hall, 1 Halton Hills Drive. Remarks begin at 6 p.m., light refreshments will be available.
