A new Milton bus route offering service to the 401 Industrial Business Park will launch in the new year.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2, Route 1 High Point, will operate on a fixed-schedule during weekdays, offering riders predictable and frequent service along Ontario St. N., Steeles Ave. E., Regional Road 25 and Park Hill Dr..

Currently, the 401 Industrial Zone is solely serviced by Milton Transit OnDemand.

Route 1 will run every 20 minutes during the morning and afternoon peak periods, and every 40 minutes in the mid-day.

Service along this corridor will shift to OnDemand on weeknights from 7:30 to 10:11 p.m., and on Saturdays from 7:10 a.m. to 7:40 p.m. There will be no service on Sundays or holidays.

Route 1 High Point will maintain connections with other routes and services at the Milton GO Station and Regional Road 25/Hwy. 401 Park-and-Ride area.

The route will also provide connection points at Conestoga College’s Park Hill campus and Steeles Avenue campus.
