A new condo development in Milton that will eventually see more than 1,700 residential units is on its way.

The Laurels is a mix of mid-rise and high-rise condos by Mattamy Homes at 6100 Regional Road 25, on the northeast corner of the intersection with Britannia Road.

When it’s built out, the community will have seven buildings between 12-15 storeys, 1,768 residential units in one-bedroom, one-bedroom + den, two-bedroom, and two-bedroom + den suites. The first tower will offer 216 suites across 14 floors.

“At Mattamy, we believe in Milton and in creating more opportunities for Canadians to realize their dreams of homeownership,” said Niall Haggart, president, GTA Urban Division, Mattamy Homes. “With The Laurels, we are excited to continue delivering housing that is not only attainable but also sustainable, well-designed and connected to the natural beauty of the area.”

Plans for The Laurels prioritize efficiency and affordability. Prices will start in the $500,000s and 60 per cent of the units will be one-bedroom with dens, what the company describes as perfect for first-time buyers and renters looking for a home in a community-focused environment.

“We’ve designed the first phase of The Laurels to reflect the natural beauty of Milton,” said Brian Laye, a partner at CORE Architects, the project designers. “The promenade along will provide a peaceful, beautiful space for residents to enjoy, making it a focal point of the entire community.”

In line with an organizational focus on sustainability and commitment to sustainable building practices, Mattamy is also featuring geothermal heating and cooling in Phase 1of The Laurels. By prioritizing energy-efficient building designs and using geothermal systems, Mattamy is actively working to minimize the project’s carbon footprint.

Phase 1 will offer 5,000 sq. ft. of retail space on-site to give the community a Main Street feel, with more retail spaces planned in future phases. Residents will also benefit from a wide range of amenities, including a gym, yoga studio, and party room.

“From Day 1, our vision has been to create a gateway development, with buildings that not only stand out in design but also blend into the natural surroundings,” said Laye. “The buildings will be laid out for optimal views, with robust materials like brick bases to evoke warmth and a sense of craftsmanship.”

The Laurels will be constructed in seven phases of development. Each building will showcase spacious balconies and an attractive, modern exterior.

The first 14-storey tower will have 216 suites which will range in size from 507 to 785 sq.-ft. The will have single-plank, laminate flooring, 9- and 10-foot, smooth, painted ceilings and will include stainless steel appliances and quartz kitchen countertops.

These residential suites are now available, and the expected occupancy for this first phase will be mid-2027, with full build-out by winter 2029.
