New home purchase on deck for Milton dad after huge Lotto Max win

A Milton dad plans to purchase a home and help his community following a Lotto Max jackpot win.

Paras Thakur has $285,447.40 to put toward his dreams after winning the Sept. 13 draw.

The married father of two has been playing the lottery with OLG for about seven years. He said he plays Lotto Max weekly, using OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections.

“It had been a long day, and I had just sat down on the couch to put my feet up, when I decided to check my tickets on the OLG app,” said Paras, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

“When I saw that I had won, I couldn’t stop laughing. I told my wife the news and she started to cry tears of joy. We had somewhat opposite reactions, but we are incredibly grateful.

“This win is such a blessing. We can finally buy a home. I will also find a way to give back to my community.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Ontario Street South in Milton.
