Oakville has a new burger restaurant, and they boast “every bite is an experience.”

American fast-foot chain Boardwalk Burgers celebrated its grand opening on the weekend after initially opening earlier this summer.

The new north Oakville burger stop, which is the 25 to open its doors across Canada, is located at 497 Dundas Street West and features an outdoor patio, made-to-order burgers, shakes and of course the popular “Boardwalk” fries.

There’s plenty more on the menu, including chicken and veggie burgers as well as tender chicken platters, wings, salads, onion rings and desserts such as chocolate lava cake, chocolate fudge brownie and cheesecake.

To celebrate its opening weekend, a buy one, get one free deal on all of Boardwalk’s favourites was offered.

“Thinking about going on a diet? I’ll tell you what diet I’m going on, the boardwalk diet,” said Oakville franchise owner Andrew Kamps in a post on Instagram.

Inspired the “legendary” fries, the initial Boardwalk restaurant was opened in 1981 by founders Dave and Fran DiFerdinando.

“But our story doesn’t end with fries,” said the DiFerdinandos on the Boardwalk Burgers website, which also added that all the food is 100 -percent halal. “As the word spread, and people wanted more, we introduced fresh, always made-to-order, fresh hand-made burgers, creamy shakes made with premium Canadian dairy and a host of other mouth-watering options.

“Each new addition was met with the same dedication to quality and taste that started with our original Boardwalk fries.”

Boardwalk Burgers is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday to Wednesdays and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Thursday to Saturdays.
