A man who ran completely naked along Oakville’s Trafalgar Rd. while being chased by police is expected to face charges.

The incident took place early Wednesday morning (Oct. 12) near the intersection of Trafalgar Rd. and Iroquois Shore Rd. and was caught on cellphone video by a White Oaks Secondary School student on her way to school with her father (see video here).

Halton Regional Police told halton.insauga.com that they were contacted at approximately 7:50 am for a report of an assault and stabbing at a residence in Oakville.

The man was eventually tackled by police.

“A suspect was identified and police engaged in a foot chase with that suspect,” said Halton police spokesperson Ryan Anderson.

“The suspect was eventually taken into custody by police and while the investigation is still ongoing police anticipate laying charges.”

Anderson said the victim’s injuries were not serious and they were treated by EMS.

Lola McKinnon was being driven to school by her father when she noticed a man running naked with a police officer in close pursuit and a police vehicle, with sirens blazing, just behind them.

“I saw him running and I didn’t think he was naked at first and then I saw the cop car and I put the two pieces together, and it was like, ‘Oh my God!,” the White Oaks student told halton.insauga.com.

McKinnon can’t believe what she saw.

“I’ve never seen anything like that,” she said. “I’ve never even seen anyone get arrested or anything. It was so weird.”
