My dad ‘speeds all the time,’ child tells police after father pulled over in Burlington

Out of the mouth of babes sometimes comes the most ironic things, like this Thursday morning (Sept. 7) in Burlington.
Halton Regional Police were out in full force early on Cleaver Ave. near C.H. Norton Public School for Project Safe Start and pulled over numerous vehicles.
Police handed out tickets for seatbelt use, talking on a cell phone and speeding, but it was one interaction that particularly stood out for officers while doing their duty this morning.
A driver pulled over for speeding had a child in a car seat and while the officer was at the driver’s side window the kid decided to share perhaps a little more information than his dad likely wanted him to.
“My dad speeds all the time,” said the child in the car seat.
A perfect example that your kid is always paying attention to what you’re doing.
“Set a safe example,” Halton police said in a tweet on the X platform.

One person in response to the police tweet said the same thing would happen to him if he decided to speed with a child in his car.
“My kid would sell me out too,” the person said in response. “He’s so honest, it hurts lol.”
