Some fan favourites will fill the screen when Movies by the Lake return to Burlington this summer.

Brought to viewers by the Burlington Downtown Business Association (BDBA), the films are free at Spencer Smith Park starting in July and continuing each week until the end of August.

First up is the family-friendly baseball-themed movie The Sandlot starting at 9:10 p.m. on July 11.

“Treat yourself to nights of summer wonder in our downtown,” says the BDBA. “Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of our many restaurants. Treat yourself to a little shopping trip. Grab coffee with your favourite people. Explore Burlington downtown before heading to Spence Smith Park to grab a great seat for the show. Bigger and better than last year, cap off your night with an evening of cinematic wonder as you take in free, weekly lakeside movies.”

All you need to do to take part is show up with a chair or a blanket to make yourself comfortable.

New to this year’s cast is a life-sized red carpet photo frame where you pretend you are going to a Hollywood premiere. As well, you can take part in a movie trivia challenge where 15 new questions will be posed each film night.

Along with the sandlot, here is the list of other scheduled movies.
