Month-long delays for drivers on major Oakville road

Drivers who use Burnhamthorpe Rd. in Oakville will see delays for the next month.
To service growth, address traffic demands and provide new travel options, Halton Region has been extending William Halton Parkway to create a new east-west corridor from Bronte Road to Ninth Line in north Oakville.
The section of Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. between Sixth Line and Neyagawa Blvd. will be realigned starting tomorrow, July 4, as part of the William Halton Parkway extension.
The project will temporarily restrict through traffic on Burnhamthorpe until Aug. 4. Access to Neyagawa from Burnhamthorpe will be available via Sixth Line during this time.
Motorists should expect delays when travelling through the area. Local access, access to businesses and emergency access, will be maintained along Burnhamthorpe Rd. W. at all times.
No disruption to waste collection or mail delivery is anticipated.
