Mississauga man among those facing drug, weapons charges following bust in Halton Hills

Men from Mississauga and British Columbia have been arrested following a drug investigation that took Halton police to a Halton Hills residence.
Last week, Halton police concluded Project Wander which focused on the distribution of cocaine and fentanyl in Halton region and surrounding areas. Search warrants were executed at a condominium and self storage unit in Mississauga as well as a residence in Halton Hills.
As a result of the warrants, investigators located and seized:
- A loaded Glock 27 prohibited compact handgun
- Bundled Canadian currency in excess of $20,000
- Money counters, cutting agents and digital scales
Drugs seized included:
- 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine
- About one kilogram of purple fentanyl
- About one kilogram of cocaine
- 60 oxycodone pills
Gurkamal Khakh, 25, of Mississauga and Tavleen Towana, 24, of BC, are facing multiple weapon, drug, and stolen property charges.
Both were held pending a bail hearing.
At the time of his arrest, Khakh was under a Firearm Prohibition Order with conditions not to possess any firearms.
