After reports circulated on social media yesterday about Milton restaurant Pretty Rad closing down, the ownership group issued a clarifying statement.

The restaurant, which has been closed for more than a week, is located at 243 Main St. E., at the corner of Martin St., in the old post office building.

Earlier, on the eatery’s Instagram page, there were cryptic posts about why they were closed and when they might reopen.

A post provided to and posted on several social media sites was signed by Team TheRad, Patrick, Roger, Janet and Cat Rad,

“After dedicating 30 years of my life to the hospitality industry, I have made the difficult decision to step away from Pretty Rads,” wrote Pat Rad. “It wasn’t an easy choice, as I will genuinely miss all the wonderful customers and regulars who have supported me and Pretty Rads throughout the years. Your support has meant the world to me, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for everything.”

He then went on to outline the plan for the future of the location.

“I am thrilled to announce that Pretty Rads will be undergoing a transition under new management. It will gradually transform into an exciting new concept called The Eighth Note a Local Eatery and Live Music Bar.

“This concept is the brainchild of Jo Anne Torrance, a talented musician and local resident whom some of you may know from her involvement with the local Milton band 16 Miles Out.”

He said the new team hopes to reopen the restaurant as soon as possible bringing music and a variety of exciting events to Main Street.

“Keep an eye out for the upcoming announcements in the next few days, as we anticipate some incredible plans.”
