Through an online tool on the Town of Milton’s website, residents are able to track the snow-clearing progress during heavy snowfalls.
Winter maintenance is provided by the Town to over 1,615 lane kilometres of Regional and Town roads and more than 250 kilometres of designated walkways and sidewalks.
Residents who would like to track snowplows may do so on the Town’s website in order to keep track of the snow-clearing progress.
The Town’s website, which features a snowplow tracking tool, also enables residents to see exactly which streets have been completed.
In the event of a snowfall, the Town deploys snow-clearing resources to roadways. However, it can take between eight to 24 hours to finish clearing all residential roadways after a snowfall.
The Town prioritizes snow plowing routes based on emergency service routes, traffic volumes and road use.
Residents are reminded that in the case of a significant weather event, winter maintenance will take additional time.
As a result, residents are reminded to wait a full 24 hours after a storm has ended to contact the Town if their roads have not been maintained.
