Over the last month, the Milton Public Library (MPL) has been accepting donations to support the Red Scarf Project, in order to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS.

Throughout the month of November, MPL collected red scarves, mittens and hats at the Main Library ahead of Dec. 1, which is World AIDS Day.

MPL also encouraged the community to knit red scarves, mittens and hats for the AIDS Network serving Hamilton, Halton, Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant.

The AIDS Network is a registered charitable organization that offers services to 1.5 million people living in those communities. Since 1986, the organization has been the primary voice for HIV/AIDS prevention, education and support.

Additionally, they provide a wide range of free, confidential, supportive and practical services to people affected by or living with HIV/AIDS.

The donations collected will bring awareness to HIV/AIDS in the community.

“MPL thanks you in advance for your time and donations,” reads its website.
