Milton neighbourhoods are getting personalized ice rinks for the winter

Miton is preparing to make winter a little more lively this year, as the town is relaunching its neighbourhood outdoor rinks program.
The incentive initially launched during the 2022/2023 winter season and was a collaborative effort between residents and representatives of the Town of Milton — with both parties helping to facilitate the construction of specialized outdoor rinks.
As a result, Milton residents were immediately treated to a wide selection of neighbourhood rinks for various winter leisure activities.
With the 2024/2025 winter season right around the corner, the Town of Milton is kicking off the program once again and wants community feedback before any ice gets put down for the year.
Have you always wanted an outdoor rink in your neighbourhood?⛸️
The Town is partnering with community volunteers to build & operate neighbourhood outdoor rinks again this year!
Applications are now open & close on Nov. 8.

Alongside this relaunch, municipal officials have released an open application for potential neighbourhood ice rink applicants, scheduled to remain active until November 8, 2024.
To get approved Milton officials have indicated that the submitted application must include a minimum of six adult members from different households across a Milton-area neighbourhood, who are all committed to maintaining the ice rink throughout the winter season.
Applications will then be reviewed later in November, with training courses to follow for approved applicants.
Rinks will then be scheduled to open in January 2025.
